FLOW seeks to hire 1L & 2L summer legal interns for summer 2025!
Our legal interns engage in FLOW’s water protection law and policy programs – locally inspired, with international reach. We’re looking for two compassionate advocates ready for hands-on work in one of the best summer locations in the US, on the shores of northern Lake Michigan.
Responsibilities and opportunities include writing legal and policy memos, doing fact research, attending coalition meetings and hearings, and participating in organizational events. Interns work with experienced policymakers and environmental lawyers engaged in active litigation to protect public waters and keep them public, clean up waterways, and enforce state and federal environmental laws.
"I feel immensely grateful for my internship experience at FLOW. I consider myself lucky to have worked on such meaningful issues surrounded by wonderful people. I especially enjoyed the assortment of assignments, and I felt very welcomed. I think everyone was friendly, warm, supportive, quirky, fun, and collaborative."

"The most valuable thing that I learned this summer was how to handle
interactions with potential clients/witnesses, something that I had no prior
experience with. This was especially true when we visited Alma to interview
individuals effected by CAFO pollution in the area. Being given the chance to
conduct one of the interviews after seeing how Dr. La Seur approached these
interactions was a great learning experience."
