FLOW (For Love Of Water) is seeking to hire an Operations Manager for our office in Traverse City, Michigan. We seek a skilled problem solver who enjoys anticipating the needs of a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the Great Lakes. This team member coordinates administrative responsibilities for FLOW, which include administration of email and cloud-based tools (Google Suite), financial management (QuickBooks Online for Nonprofits), CRM (Salesforce) support, board and committee support, and staff support, and building management.

FLOW Is Seeking a Communications Intern for Summer 2023

FLOW is searching for a Communications Intern for summer 2023 to grow public awareness and engagement across our digital platforms as we seek to solve threats to water quality, quantity, and access. Uplifting the legacy of Gov. William Milliken also is a special focus. The Communications Intern, under the supervision of FLOW’s Communications Team, will be responsible for developing original content for FLOW’s social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, & YouTube), as well as our website and e-newsletter. Other duties may include researching and writing articles, marketing, videography and photography, assisting with print communications, updating media contact lists, and helping coordinate webinars and other events.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, FLOW will continue to evaluate whether this internship will be conducted in-person in Traverse City, Michigan, or remotely; a housing stipend is not available.

FLOW Is Looking for a Law & Policy Intern for Summer 2023

FLOW is looking for a Law & Policy Intern for summer 2023. This is a great opportunity to learn about various law and policy issues affecting the Great Lakes while honing legal research, writing, and case-development skills. The position will be supervised by FLOW’s Legal Director. We seek a rising third-year law student, but we will also consider dynamic applicants that have completed at least one year of law school. The applicant for this position must have good judgment, outstanding legal research and writing skills, and a demonstrated interest in environmental policy, legislation, and law. It is imperative that the applicant have the ability to work independently within a team construct.

The selected applicant will have the choice of working at FLOW’s office in Traverse City, Michigan, or remotely; a housing stipend is not available.
